Dear Carly,

My lovely little Aussie friend living in the land down unda... This would be our favorite song if we were living in LA together still! I listen to it when Scott's not around to make fun of me. :)

Remember this Mississippi Mud night? I do!
So we went to San Francisco last week to visit some of Scottie's friends and family. I absolutely LOVE San Francisco and to say we had a good time would be an understatement! We arrived late Wednesday night, went straight to bed, woke up early and explored the city yet again.
Thursday night we went to Slims Bar and saw the greatness that is Brandon Flowers (lead singer of The Killers) solo act. He was great. He was more than great, even though his set wasn't more than 45 minutes. His new stuff is catchy and his voice is clean. He covered "Betty Davis Eyes" like I've never heard and am even more in love with him. Camera's were strictly forbidden, but, I snuck my huge one up there and snapped this one of him.
Friday we headed to Muir Woods in Marin, SF. The trees there are SO MASSIVE and OLD! It was so refreshing to be in such a beautiful forest, i swear you could hear the trees talking. We were fortunate enough to get there very early so we were the only people walking the paths at times. I could have spent hours there.
dont' you just love that photo above? I do.

Friday night we headed to the Warfield Theater to check out Ghostland Observatory yet again! As always, they put on a great show... wasn't too happy with the E'd out crowd though. Ah well, I guess I'm getting old. *gasp*

Saturday was a day in Marin to visit with family and have a pool party! Happy Birthday, Lisa!

Dear San Francisco, I had a wonderful time. I can't wait to go back and visit!
Random Wednesday Presents...

Scottie got an iMac Pro! Now I can call HIM a nerd for being on the computer! :)

I once again have been a bad blogger friend.

I have been busy with going on fun trips, concerts and then getting one HELL of an ear infection. Who gets ear infections over the age of 7? Me.

I promise to have pics for you up tomorrow!

Hope everyone is having a great week! the weather has cooled down in the Washington, DC area and it's lovely.

YEY!

I have booked the ever amazing Justine Ungaro as my wedding photographer. I am SO excited! Justine and I went to high school together and we even lived in LA at the same time but never got around to meeting up. She's a phenomenal photographer, see her stuff here... click.
I cannot WAIT for her to do our wedding, been grinning ear to ear since its been finalized. YEY!

this is just funny... back in the early 2000's my sister and I started a website called Mandrama.com. it was a site that focused on quotes that men would say when they were fired up. The definition we made up for MANDRAMA was,  "A sensational dramatic remark with exaggerated emotion that reveals the anxiety of the speaker." Why am I telling you this? Because Justine actually shot our promo pictures since radio shows were doing segments on it and us and magazines were curious. We eventually got bored of the site even though it was pretty popular (we had about 1500 hits a day), so marvin sister to get bored quickly, ha! Anyways, here are the shots Justine captured of us back then. So funny!

how ridiculous is that? However, the shoot was fun!

now this is MY kinda wedding cake!
its a CHEESE WEDDING CAKE! No, not a cheese cake... a CHEESE wedding cake. I love it! I don't like sweets OR cake so this would be the way I would roll if it were a perfect world. Too bad my sister and mother would kill me. They are in charge of wedding cake tasting. I'll just shove it in Scott's face. ;) I kid.

Arcade Fire and Spoon

On Friday Scottie and crossed state lines and ventured north into Maryland to see my all time favorite band of all time... Arcade Fire.

just a little excited in the above picture, huh?

To put it mildly, they were incredible. There were about 8 people on stage at all times and every one of them were engulfed in the instrument they were playing. in my little opinion, this is the band of our generation. a U2 if you will. They inspire, they are lyric driven and they are all so musically driven. They are not publicity crazy, the write music they want to listen to and it seems that everyone else does too. Their most recent record, Suburbs is fantastic but not my favorite. Id have to say that Funeral takes the cake still. Arcade Fire played all their hits as well as their new songs and the energy the crowd had and the harmony of the instruments and the audience was chilling. I still get goose bumps watching the movie memories in my head. It was a night to remember in my life. If you aren't an Arcade Fire fan yet, I strongly recommend jumping on the wagon... its a great little ride.

one of the best parts of the evening was that the lead singer of Spoon was standing directly behind us with his cute little son on his shoulders jamming with us. so awesome.

could The Real Housewives of DC be anymore boring?

seriously.

So I watched three kids this week and I had so much fun. Three kids is a lot but they were great kids and they were so fun and creative. We went to the park, made yarn octopus's, ate mac and cheese and just had a good time. I was a little sad when it was over; not as tired, but still a little sad. :) Am I ready to have kids yet? NO!

Happy Friday everyone! I'm off to see Arcade Fire tonight and Kings of Leon tomorrow night. Im in LOVE with this weekend already! What are yall up to?

PS: football season is almost here!
*jumping up and down!*
