Grillz

We have gone and done the inevitable with adjusting to suburbia... we invested in an outdoor grill. But, not just ANY outdoor grill. The Big Green Egg. I was not aware of The Big Green Egg but, Scott had been talking about it like it was the MVP of the grill world. I'm not easily swayed by marketing and TV commercials so I went to my own sources and called my brother who is, at least to me, the GRILL MASTER. He assured me it was a great grill and worth the absurd amount of cash.

Now, you can fight these man purchases or you can let them win here and there. I let him win and get his "dream grill". Now I can just give him meat and he can be in charge of dinner. (really, a score for me).

And, just to say, The Big Green Egg is incredible and makes meat and veggies taste amazing! Its a smokey taste and its truly awesome! I highly suggest one!

Weekend WrapUp

Oh heyyyyyyyyyyyy, it's Monday again. Boo.

This weekend, The Kirby's did a lot of outdoors sorts of things and suburbanites sorts of things and things we are figuring out how to do. With that... we did farmer's markets and some serious planting. The planting will have to be in a separate post, but, it was fun for us and after all was said and done, Scott cracked his 22 and said, "I deserved this". He did.

Selfie!

Beautiful Farmer's Market Flowers

I wanted to take home every single bunch of tulips but Scott said we had to eat. Men and their appetites

I am so looking forward to planting my herb garden in a few weeks!

Loved these lights and tin ceiling at The Porch Cantina

These aren't hipsters, they are really just people playing folk music under a tent. I have a hard time realizing that people do this for fun and they're not being ironic or Brooklyn cool. They just ARE. :) That beard though, awesome.

Doesn't this just ooze "love"? We have a lot of time together down here in the country.

I think I need this for our backyard.

Dinner at the house on a Saturday night. It was yummmmmmmmmmmmmmy!

Love Cannot Even Describe

Last summer we planted a pink dogwood for my baby girl angel in the sky. I went to visit my parents over Easter and her flowers bloomed. It made my heart blossom too! She may not be here, but she's living. Just look at those gorgeous flowers!! (Proud mama).

(Late) Weekend WrapUp

I hope everyone had a very happy Easter! We headed North to see my parents and family and had a great time EATING and finding eggs. I wonder when my parents will stop having Easter Egg hunts for their all over 30 children? I hope NEVER. Last week we also had my brother and nephew come down for a few days. Usually in Brooklyn, we had TONS to do, so being here, I had to get really creative. They seemed to have a good time though. I love when they visit.

Father and son swinging in my front yard.

Pretty much my most favorite picture of Scott... ever.

Who knew Winston Salem had a pretty rad Science Museum? Not me! Nico loved this Hurrican Simulator.

We made a taco bar for dinner one night. SO good and SO easy.

Here we are at my parents house for Easter and my mom is dancing with the Easter Bunny. She has no clue I took this and that makes me laugh even harder.

Intense Baseball game with the fam and redneck golfcarts to get everywhere. Dream. :)

Weekend WrapUp!

Good Morning!

Hope everyone had a really nice weekend! Its amazing to have Spring FINALLY here! We were outside most of this week and couldn't be happier about it.

Scott said he was not going to have alcohol in the house for a bit... as you can see, the struggle is real and he ended up buying "just a couple for the Masters". Men.

We took these awesome crates from Scott's work and we're going to make some seating areas in our backyard. Stay tuned to see if we actually do it and how it turns out. Should be hilarious either way.

After being here 9 months or so, we FINALLY found something that reminded us of (our last) home. The Hoots Flea. It was really cute, had some great furniture that we'd see in Brooklyn for about $400 less. SCORE!

Hoots is an old Roller Bar Warehouse that they've redone for artists.

Our new favorite spot for dinner or weekends is The Porch. Its down home, artistic, plays good music and has character. FINALLY!

If ya don't know... now ya know. Offer Ends Tuesday EOD.

Macaroni loves my new kicks from VANS that support the ASPCA! Go get yourself a pair. They have kitties too!

I have my nephew and brother coming to visit this week and I'm a little nervous as there is NOTHING TO DO HERE. I did however hide little easter chicks around the house and if my nephew finds them all, he gets a prize. I don't know what that prize IS yet, but, I'll come up with something, I'm sure.
