Nick Cave's - Dancing Horses

This week, artist and trained dancer, Nick Cave (Not to be confused by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) had his dancing horses on display in Grand Central Station. I was really excited about seeing this as soon as I heard about it and also saw the ads on the subway. Something about dancing horses just had to be seen. It was really cool and if I had a little child, I would definitely bring them to see this. It was magical! It was like a story book comes to life.

An article about the exhibit in the New York Times.

There are two people in the horse costumes dancing in tandem.

Why I will brush everyday.

As if I didn't already know, but, teeth really do make a MASSIVE difference. This tumblr called Actresses without teeth literally had me laughing so hard and I found myself covering my mouth at one point. I'm going to brush my pearly whites extra long tonight.

i mean, without teeth she looks downright HIDEOUS! I didn't think that was possible.

Street Museum

I love how I can just walk around my hood and see some new art. I hadn't seen this one and thought it was awesome. The boys even kind of match it!

Weekend Snaps

Thursday night I did make your own burrito bowls. I made most of the ingredients at Chipolte, but, took out all the fast food fat! It was great!

This is how my dog and huzbo sleep.

we re-did our room. I wanted something happy, bright and colorful. I think I succeeded.

Friday Tunes

I wasn't always a fan of Vampire Weekend, but, this song off their new album, 'Modern Vampires Of The City' out May 6th/7th. (I just pre-ordered) have just turned me into a fan. The lyrics are adorable, the vocals are beautiful and the video, you don't have to ask me why I love the video... its New York! The most amazing city I've ever lived. I can't explain my love affair with it, I really can't. Its dirty, its busy, its cramped, there are too many people and its so expensive. But, there is just something about living here that makes me take a deep breath of the polluted air and just think, "this place is awesome." Will I be here forever? Likely not, but for now... its my little slice of happiness. I feel at home here and its the best feeling in the world for a little nomad like me.

Song and video here.

Happy Friday, Friends!

An NYC Sunset

I loooooove the NY skyline at sunset. When its a beautiful one, like it was last night, I feel so lucky to call this place home.

from the roof of my building. Empire State Building

to the left is the Williamsburg bridge, the tallest tower is the almost finished Freedom Tower

doesn't hubbo make one hell of a cheese plate!?

My Thoughts on Girls

yes, I watch the show. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I find it unbelievably annoying one second, covering my eyes the next and then feeling like, "ok, this is why I watch it", moments the next.

The season finale show though... all I could think about was the following:

1. Why the hell did Charlie take Marni back? She's clearly paying attention to you because you have money.
2. Why do people love Adam? So what, he has a sweet side. That doesn't make it OK for all his other crazy sides.
3. How on EARTH is Hannah paying for a two bedroom in Greenpoint when she's jobless? I live right near her "TV" house and could never afford it.
4. I am over her OCD. Maybe its her acting of it that makes me roll my eyes.
5. I miss Jessa.

and finally, I literally said out loud as the episode was coming to and end... "did she finish her book?"

Maybe I'm officially too removed from the girl in her 20's... but, they all seem (besides Jessa) like whiney spoiled brats to me.

yes, that was a post on a fictional show that got me worked up.

Dear Huzbo

...If you ever want to buy me something nice just for the heck of it... or because I'm so cool and sweet and cook you good dinners... you can buy me something from here. Betsy & Iya. I love their pieces and also the prices. (No, they are not sponsors, I just really like their stuff and wanted to drop a hint to my husband to buy me stuff).

I literally like every single piece on their site.

i don't know this artist, but, I really like what he/she does. Its very, very cool.

After a couple glasses of wine, taking these pictures makes us laugh pretty hard. Don't judge us. Ok, you can.

No wonder why I'm tired!

Pics from the weekend...

our late night graffiti photo shoot on our way back from a little dinner date at 1or 8

I love the show GIRLS! Because I love the show, I mapped out where cafe Grumpy was on our Saturday walk for Mack. The coffee was... ehhhhhhh.

We had dinner plans at The Hoffman's place in Ft. Greene. They made Mediterranean awesomeness and I made apple pies baked in apples. We then finished 5 bottles of wine and laughed til we almost peed our pants playing "Cards Against Humanity".
My husband plays baseball on the asphalt in Brooklyn for fun. He's bad ass.

We finished out the weekend at Radaghast German Beer haus with pints (mine was water, I needed a break) of beer, salted pretzels and sausages. I'm now on a no food diet.
