On Hold

Hi.

I'm in a U-Haul moving to a different state this week. I'll try to post but if not, I'll be ripe and ready next week!

Friday Tunes

Happy Friday
"sit back and just breathe"

Freedom Tower and TriBeCa and little bit of me

Ive had a bit of a stay-cation, if you will this week, so I've been taking to the city to meander and explore. Below is a few of my captures of my day.

The Freedom Tower is impressive

This little guy was back again... i swear, he should just move in. :)

When I saw the court house I heard the "ding ding" of Law and Order and then wanted to charge up the stairs.

we may have done a little bit of this kinda shopping for my sister. So fun!

I looooove TriBeCa. In my next life, when I win the lottery, I'll live there and be neighbors with the Carter's. (Beyonce and JayZ)

View of the city from the pier in TriBeCa. Amazing!

Me being Me. I believe this was leaving Harlem for an appt.

NYC Public Library

Today I walked by the incredible New York Public Library and just had to walk in. I've never visited this building before and I am glad I did. It is impressive! It reminded me of a Washington, DC museum with its marble hallways and columns. Strangely it was pretty empty when I was there and I may have pretended I was Carrie Bradshaw seeing the grand staircase in the movie and imagining my wedding there. :)

Dear NYC,

Getting an umbrella this big is not only a pain in the ass to see around, but, its also way too big. You do know that the sidewalks are narrow and there are about a bajillion  people around you at all times. Your big umbrella not only blocks my view of what is in front, but, its so damn large I can't pass you or get around you without getting stabbed by one of the corners. I think my biggest pet peeves is when we're waiting at a cross walk and your big ass umbrella is dripping on me.

Solution?! Buy a clear umbrella that doesn't go wide - it covers just you and doesn't obstruct views or get in the way.

I'm still mad at this lady!!!

In love With Goorin Bros

Scottie and I have walked passed this store probably 100 times, but Sunday we decided (I dragged him in) to go in and check it out. IN. LOVE. I've always been a person who loves hats and this place was heaven for me. We tried on probably 20 hats each and leaving with four... yes, four. The cute sales girl was so sweet and adorable. I bought an asymmetrical fedora and Scott bought 3 athletic hats. :) You can see their online store here.

Friday Tunes

Currently loving "The Wire" by Haim. They are three sisters from Los Angeles who's debut album is due out in September. According to The Guardian, "As with most Haim songs, The Wire starts small - a scratchy guitar riff augmented by a simple drum beat and Danielle's precise vocals. As it slowly unfurls, however, the melodies start to tumble, the chorus of "it felt right, but I fumbled it when it came down the wire" seductively burrowing its way into your brain, before Rechtshaid's subtle production touches – the synth strings, the layered harmonies, the almost glam stop-start beat that emerges towards the end – make it one of their strongest songs to date."
