Gutter Art

Love this collab between street artists  Leonardo Delafuente (aka Delafuente) and Anderson Augusto (aka SÃO). They took the boring street gutter and turned it into characters or fun objects to add color and charm to drab city scenes. Check out the rest here

Below are some of my favorites:

I love when cities embrace artists creativity and let them brain storm.

Quote To Live By

"Before you speak, ask yourself: is it kind, is it necessary, is it true, does it improve on the silence?" - Sai Baba

Is It Christmas?

We went to Rolf's last weekend and it felt like u were in the MIDDLE of a Christmas Tree!

If this place and spiked eggnog can't get you in the holiday spirit, I'm not sure what can.

My Morning

This morning The L train had massive delays in both directions. We walked out of the station and tried to hail a cab with loads of other people. While also trying to call for a car -- with loads of other people. So we decided to walk a half mile to the ferry and cross the river to then catch a bus. Bus was too crowded so we walked 5 avenues and 15 blocks because all the cabs were off duty or taken. I'm exhausted.

Would You?

Would you buy a $98.00 iPhone Case?

The beautiful sisters over at DANNIJO seem to have quite the following with theirs. Would I take one for free? Absolutely!

They are very cool though! Too cool! (i lose my phone too much) :)

Puppy Shower!

I have the most fun and sweet co-workers ever! I returned to work and was surprised with a mini "puppy shower" to celebrate the arrival of MACK! He received some awesome clothes... A hipster flannels, a necessary black puffer jacket and GAMECOCK GEAR!

He LOVES it. So stylish.

Happy Friday

Everyone please do this dance this weekend!

Its so GROSS that I LOOOOVE it!

Ornaments

Tomorrow is December 1st!   WHOA!

I saw these beautiful sparkled pine cones on crate and barrel's site this morning and really wanted to make them myself. Then, I remembered that I lived in Brooklyn and finding anything pine cones would be very difficult. So, now I will see if I can trash in the neighborhood that looks cool enough to SPARKLE. I'll let you know what I find and IF I really do this. I really hate buying silly ornaments that have no meaning. Sparkle trash seems much more fun anyways.

If anyone would like to send me real Christmas Ornaments, let me know. :)

Friday Morning

Today is my last morning home before I go back to work on Monday. I am VERY much looking forward to returning to work. I have used the last month to heal, mostly as well as get my emotional well being in check. Its been a needed break, but, I can honestly say I'm ready to return to "life".

I have loved sleeping in and hanging out with my Mack Man though!

Today I made an egg white omlete and I'm obsessed with Kale Chips right now. I haven't tried the plain yet because it still creeps me out... but, baby steps. Being on a diet around Holiday season isn't one of the brighter ideas but, I'm sick of this extra baby weight on me. I need to get in shape and healthy now! (I can still drink red wine though, right? Oh and its the SEC Championship on Saturday, crap! That means BEERS!) I'll do my best.

One Month

Today was a hard one. Today our little girl would have 1 month old and it was rainy and nasty out. It should have been a lot harder, but, I met a friend for a wonderful lunch and spoke with her about our story. It was the first time I've talked out loud and I think I did pretty well. I will say its gotten a bit easier, or maybe its that more time has passed so I'm healing. I miss her, but, I'm moving into a more positive mind-set. I still ask "why" over and over in my head... but, I'm accepting and looking forward to the future. She'll never be replaced, only loved and will have siblings who can celebrate her too!

We have received so many lovely cards and some friends have sent me photos of us to lift spirits and I have to admit, it helps. Family and friends are really the only things that can get you through hard times... cherish these relationships.

I don't plan on speaking about this on our blog anymore. I wanted to mention this milestone so she had one. I'm proud of her no matter what and I'm proud of Scottie and I for being one hell of a strong loving couple. We love our friends and family so much... this holiday season will be enjoyed so much!

and I'm thankful for this ridiculous face. I mean, how can you not just LAUGH at this guy?

Smiles For San Francisco

I looooooooooooooove you, San Francisco!

We had a fantastic time visiting family in the gorgeous area this Thanksgiving. It was filled with drinking, eating, visiting, football, family time and lots of laughter and smiles. It was just what the east coast Kirby's needed. Just check out our photos of the incredibly scenic area. Its enough to lift anyone's spirits.

Hmmmm, perhaps I'll move there next. It HAS almost been a year in this city. ;)

Packing with Mack

Hi!
We're heading to San Francisco this evening for Thanksgiving! Mack is going to miss me sooooooooo much (and I will miss him) but, I have my sister looking after him. She will undoubtedly over-feed him and spoil him rotten. I'm kinda OK with that. :) I'm looking forward to heading back to the west coast. I haven't been back in about 2 years! I'll be sure to take lots and lots of pictures of our time out there. After packing, I realize I wear nothing but black. Damn you NYC!!

We're also listening to Gary Clark Jr's "Give it Up Now

Beautiful NYC Day

I had a great morning today just walking around NYC.

I took the L to the F and then walked down 5th Ave to try to find an outfit for Thanksgiving. We are headed to San Francisco tomorrow for the holiday -- can't wait!

Not sure I scored on the outfit, but, it was such a stunning day out, I was happy to enjoy the sites. I even had my loveboat (yes, that's what I call him) surprise me walking around. I love seeing him, so I was happy to walk around a bit with him. The Christmas decorations are being set up in NYC, I will photograph them next week to show you. But, for now, here are some pics from my afternoon stroll.

Not sure how I left this little crazy eyed psycho.

subway'ing on off hours is kinda relaxing. Check out that empty staircase... I took my time and wasn't rushed, it was lovely.

random brooklyn house up the street. Ive seen a lot of bands take photos in front of this.

Its officially the holidays. Chestnuts were roasting on 5th Ave.
I rushed home to see this little monster who REFUSED to walk.

A Brooklyn Craft Fair

The un-impressed Mack is pissed it's Monday too.

This weekend I went to the Renegade Craft Fair here in Williamsburg Brooklyn. It was actually really well put together and the artists were great! I ended up getting a couple things for family for Christmas and also a great print for our apartment. I also stared at these deserts below for a good 20 minutes before finally forcing myself to leave with out any. Seriously difficult.

i have lived in everyone of those cities

Brooklyn is embracing a lot of chalk recently.
